My HP EliteBook 2570P laptop is giving me trouble. I play League of Legends on it, which doesn't stress the machine much. However, my sister uses the same device for Sims 4, and within 40 minutes of gameplay, the laptop shuts down due to excessive heat.
We bought a cooling pad; it still overheated. Ice packs under the machine didn't help either. We lowered graphics settings, switched to the lowest power plan, and prioritized processes in Task Manager; the laptop still powered off.
The initial shutdown scared me; it seemed like a short circuit. The indicator lights on buttons like the mute switch went dark (they now work again), and some sensors stopped responding. I’m actively searching for a replacement cooling solution. I need recommendations for a new cooling pad and advice to restore the computer to its previous state.
