My Acer Nitro 5 laptop, equipped with an i7 12700H processor and an RTX 4060 graphics card, suffered from extreme heat and excessive fan noise. The cooling fan's speed was so high the entire system vibrated noticeably.

Last month, I applied a Thermalright Heilos phase-change thermal pad, purchased from Gaming gen, to address these issues. The installation method mirrored the PTM7950 process.

I used the 42x42mm AMD variant; the Intel version differs only in size. The reduced noise levels are immediately apparent.

Cinebench R23 benchmark results showed a complete 130W power draw, hitting the power limit. The fan noise reduction is significant.

FurMark testing revealed temperatures never exceeding 90°C, though I didn't record exact figures. My laptop's cooling system seems less than ideal for the GPU, The CPU block has a protrusion matching the chip size, but the GPU lacks this, and a sponge-like material interferes with full contact. This impacts performance.

Counter-Strike 2 gameplay showed CPU temperatures consistently under 85°C. The improvements are substantial.
